What is the PCU Credit Union?
1980 - 2010 Celerbrating 30 years of service
THE PENTECOSTAL CREDIT UNION (PCU) formally came into being in 1980, originally operating from a tiny room in Balham. Sixteen people attended its first meeting in 1979; in the same year its first official payment was made for £1.20 for a Rule Book.
It now operates from its own freehold premises which is at 15 Oldridge Road, Balham, London, SW12 8PL
How does a Credit Union work?“Credit unions are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members. They offer savings and great value loans plus they are local, ethical and know what their members want.” After a short period of saving, adult members can apply for a loan, at a low rate of interest – no more than 1% per month (12.68% APR) on outstanding balances. For example a loan of £100.00 taken over 12 months will cost no more than £106.50. Looking ForwardWe can play a lead role in shaping our destiny – working together to pool knowledge and resources – and working in a co-operative manner to build a better future for our young people – we have in our communities an untapped wealth that needs to be developed and unleashed. THE PENTECOSTAL CREDIT UNION (PCU) is a non-profit making Organisation and like all other Credit Union it is Authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. |
